"A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2016."

Alva: Already packed his suitcase for our upcoming greece holiday. He showed it to me and said: "ani siamti et ha misvada sheli ima" (i finished packing my suitcase mom). At least he thought about the tooth brush and tooth paste haha...

Alva: screaming "aaaaaaaa" into the turning ventilator...apparently this is normal thing "kids-that-grow-up-in-hot-countries-do". I tried it, Alva is right, it's a lot of fun. You should try it too!

Alva: After Alva picked up how other kids were kicking trees. Ohad told him not to kick trees, that he could hug them instead, so now they are stopping at every tree on the way to kindergarden because Alva wants to hug every single one of them. It makes my tree-lover heart beat very fast...

"A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2016."

Alva: From on wednesday, everyday Alva and me have the following conversation: Alva asks "imaa, hayom iom shishi" (ima is it friday today)? -"Non Alva, aujourd hui c'est mercredi, il faut dormir encore 2 fois jusqu'a ce que ce soit vendredi" (No Alva, today is wednesday, we need to sleep twice and then it's friday").

On friday morning the conversation goes like this: "imaa, hayom iom shishi" (ima is it friday today)? -"Oui, aujourd'hui c'est vendredi Alva". Alva asks "Az hayom ossim ambatiya?" (So today we are going to the bathtub?) -"Oui, aujourd'hui tu vas pas a la douche, tu peux aller dans la baignoire" (Yes, today you are not showering, you can go to the bathtub).

And Alva jumps up and down and screams "ieeeshhhh" and asks "achshav? efshar achshav ambatiya?" (now? can i go now in the bathtub?) -"Non, pas maintenant, ce soir" (No, not now, tonight) - "Ah, d'accord ima" (Ah, ok ima).

And in the evening...The highlight of his week.

"A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2016."

Alva: Has a week off because of passover holidays and i am so excited that i could spend an entire day with him from the morning to the evening. We went to the "cininima" (cinema) to see a fairy movie (at minute 40 a boy stole the unicorn baby from the fairy and it made alva cry so heartbreakingly that we had to leave...), we spend 3 hours on the playground, ate ice cream and drank tons of juice, skipped the afternoon nap, went to visit our friends Lucie, Fabrice, Gilli and Tomas where Alva and Lucie covered themselves with finger paint and Alva fell asleep on my lap in the bus on the way home. What a wonderful day and such a fun family week with amazing friends!

Alva: was really happy and excited that safta heidi came to visit and brought him legos and french books, played fishing paper fishes with him everyday, took him from the kindergarden, went with him for long bike rides and baked a delicious cake.

This portrait was made by her during one of their common adventures.

Alva: helps me water our hibiskus every day and was as impressed and happy as I was when he discovered the beautiful big flowers. He petted each one of them saying: "wow imaa boi tirii" (wow ima come see).

Alva: is building houses i would like to live in. On the water with a wooden bridge between the rooms, a boat and a garden with crazy amazonian plants on the roof. This one is mobile and can sail away through the living room up to the kitchen if needed. Who needs more than that?

Alva: enjoyed disguising for purim this year. He got this beautiful cat mask from safta rita and ever since, we have a small meowing cat in the apartment. For the kids purim party he had a red chinese costume. When people asked him what he was, he shouted very proudly and happily: BAT-MAN! and streched his arm out to fly off (...alva, that's a superman move...well nevermind)

"A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2016."

Alva: is wearing the jeans jacket from aunt susi. I told him i wanted to make a photo to send her and that he would have to be very still (the only reason this worked was because he was still waking up from his afternoon nap).

Alva: likes to paint lately. From brush strokes at first, he discovered the technique of hammering the brush on the paper (top right drawing). The brush is totally broken now, but I love the colors he picked and i have to agree that the hammering technique looks great.
